Muthana Al Obaidi

Dr. Muthana Al Obaidi is a Pediatric Rheumatologist and the Pediatric Rheumatology Specialty Lead at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. He also serves as an Honorary Associate Professor at the GOSH UCL Institute of Child Health.

Dr. Al Obaidi completed his General Pediatric training in the North and Central London Training Programme, followed by specialized training in Pediatric Rheumatology at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

As the Chief Investigator and Principal Investigator for various studies, including those on Systemic JIA, Poly JIA, Sjogren’s Disease, cSLE, and biobank studies, Dr. Al Obaidi consistently strives to incorporate the best available evidence into his daily practice. He is dedicated to advancing clinical education, having previously served as a Training Advisor for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and as a member of the Clinical Specialties Advisory Committee for the RCPCH. He also initiated an international training program within his department.

In addition to his clinical and educational roles, Dr. Al Obaidi chairs the European Society of Paediatric Rheumatology Sjogren’s Disease Interest Group, focusing on rare conditions in paediatric rheumatology. He strongly believes in fostering international collaboration to advance the field and improve patient care globally.
